Arif Widjaksono is Of-Counsel to the Firm, bringing over thirty years of legal expertise, particularly in Indonesia’s energy, natural resources, property, plantation, FMCG and telecommunications sectors.
He holds a law degree from Padjadjaran University (1992) and a Master of Law in Natural Resources and Environmental Law from Denver University (2001), with further studies at Southern Methodist University (1998), Philip Morris International Law Skills School (2004), Philip Morris International Law University (2005), and INSEAD (2018).
Before joining the Firm, Mr. Widjaksono held senior legal roles at companies such as Philip Morris International, Chevron Geothermal Indonesia, Ecoener S.A., PT Jakarta Propertindo (Perseroda), PT Lippo Karawaci Tbk, and PT Smart Tbk (Sinar Mas Agro). His experience covers legal matters, corporate governance, regulatory matters, project implementation, and stakeholder relations. He received Philip Morris International awards in 2005 for his role in PT HM Sampoerna Tbk’s acquisition.
Notable achievements include launching Ecoener’s renewable energy operations in Indonesia (over 700 MW in capacity), leading legal due diligence for the USD 5.2 billion acquisition of PT HM Sampoerna Tbk, overseeing procurement for the BP Tangguh LNG Project, structuring contracts for Premier Oil projects, directing legal strategy at Chevron Geothermal, and establishing Ecoener Indonesia’s subsidiary.
